About the

Born and raised in Montana and surrounded by its astounding beauty, Rebecca Lynne Kinane is an acrylic painter using shapes, motion, and striking color in a unique style that serves to capture the wonder and majesty of the wildlife that guides her paintbrush and calls the Wild West home.

Rebecca Lynne Kinane was born in Choteau, Montana, and resided in the Treasure State until September 2020, when she moved to Greybull, WY, with her husband, Roman.  Growing up under the Big Sky and surrounded by its beauty, Rebecca has always been inspired by the wonder of Montana, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks: their mountains, prairies, rivers and wildlife capturing her imagination as nothing else could.

Rebecca spent most of her childhood in Ulm, MT, where the quiet of the tiny town encouraged the frequent visits of wildlife to her family's home. It was here that she began to truly develop her art, starting with color pencil and pencil drawings and eventually moving to painting and other mediums. She graduated from Cascade High School in 2009 after taking four years of art.

Rebecca’s unique style and portrayal of Montana wildlife in the beginning of her career was inspired by a study she completed in high school that centered on the human figure. The study required students to portray the figure in motion, and fill the figure with shapes and colors that represented the muscle structure and complimented the motion being carried out. This concept, married with bright colors and her love of the wildlife native to her home state, became the foundation of her work. Bold shapes, striking colors, fluid lines and an eye that, despite these accents, retains a grasp on realism, lend emotion and mystery to her paintings that is enticing to her audiences. Rebecca has spent the last eight years developing her style in a self-taught manner, and attended several local art shows while in Montana- using every opportunity to increase her skills and challenge herself as an artist, including painting on a live horse!

Rebecca’s move to Greybull with her husband, Roman, is an exciting new chapter in her professional art career. Driven to challenger herself further and take her skills to the next level, Rebecca has begun to move away from the abstract style she started her career with, and is now training herself to paint with more realism. Her love of bright colors is still evident in her work, and she still enjoys seeing and presenting wildlife and western life in a different view. Rebecca hopes her audience will love her new style just as much as her original style, and is excited to bringing new art  to you all.  Rebecca looks forward to what the future brings as she continues her artistic journey in Wyoming.  She is currently the Vice President and Secretary of the Big Horn County Arts Guild in Greybull, WY, as well as on it's founding members.
